What is the Creativity Club?
The Creativity Club is a monthly membership experience in Jeffreys Bay designed to help you reconnect with your innate creativity in a fun, pressure-free environment. Instead of focusing on technical skills or finished artworks, we explore different mediums and creative exercises to unlock inspiration and break through creative blocks.
For May, our theme is Trees —a journey into nature as a source of creative expression. Each week, we’ll experiment with a different medium—ink, cyanotype, Gelli plate printing, and charcoal—using natural elements to inspire organic textures, forms, and artistic narratives. Whether you’re a seasoned artist seeking fresh perspective or a beginner wanting to explore creativity, this month will invite you to play, explore, and transform nature into art.

May 2025 Programme:
Trees are symbols of strength, grounding, and growth. They remind us of the interconnectedness of life—rooted in the earth yet always reaching for the sky. This month, we will explore trees through different artistic lenses, using various mediums to express their spirit, movement, and symbolism. Each week, we will embrace a new way of connecting with nature and creativity:
1. Week 1: Ink & Flow
Using ink, we will explore the organic and fluid nature of trees. By allowing the ink to flow freely, we will mimic the natural, unpredictable patterns found in bark, branches, and roots. This session will focus on letting go and embracing the intuitive movement of creativity—much like a tree bends with the wind.
2. Week 2: Cyanotype & Shadows
Cyanotype is a magical process that captures the essence of light and shadow. This week, we will use tree leaves, branches, and other organic materials to create ethereal blue-toned prints. This session will invite us to reflect on the unseen—how trees cast shadows, whisper in the wind, and communicate beneath the soil through unseen networks.
3. Week 3: Gelli Plate & Textures
Trees are rich in texture, from rough bark to delicate veins in leaves. This week, we will use gelli plate printing to create layered, textured artworks. This process encourages us to explore the imprints we leave behind—just as trees mark time through rings and scars.
4. Week 4: Gelli Plate & Textures
Charcoal, made from burnt wood, allows us to bring our tree exploration full circle. This week, we will work with contrast, shadow, and depth to depict the resilience of trees, focusing on their roots—the unseen support system that nourishes and stabilizes them. This session is about exploring where we come from and where we are going, using the raw, earthy medium of charcoal.
Journey into the magic of trees and nature as a source of creative expression.

SARINA ENGELBRECHT
Creativity Club Facilitator
ABOUT SARINA ENGELBRECHT
Sarina Engelbrecht is a multi-disciplinary visual artist, photographer, and creative mentor with a deep understanding of both the artistic process and the business of creativity. With over 17 years of experience in photography, film, and business development, she has built a career that balances visual storytelling, creative exploration, and strategic thinking.
Holding a BA in Psychology, Sarina is fascinated by the connection between creativity, human behaviour, and spirituality. She believes that creativity is not just about making art—it’s a tool for self-discovery, clarity, and personal transformation. Her approach to creative facilitation is about unlocking potential, encouraging play, and guiding people through their own artistic journey in a way that feels intuitive and freeing.
She loves working with and experimenting with a wide variety of mediums, including ink, cyanotype, clay, encaustic wax, photography, and more. Her own artistic practice is meditative, and she often creates new works through digital transformation, using layers of imagery, textures, and colours to evolve her pieces into something entirely new.
As an artist, she understands the challenges of creative blocks and the importance of stepping away from routine to explore new perspectives. This is why she created the Creativity Club —a space where beginners and experienced artists alike can reconnect with their creativity, without pressure or expectation.

The Creativity Club is for anyone looking to reconnect with their creativity, whether you’re feeling creatively stuck, searching for inspiration, or simply wanting to explore artistic expression in a new way. It is ideal for:
Artists & Creatives – If you’re experiencing a creative block in your own work, stepping away and exploring different mediums can offer breakthroughs and clarity. This space allows you to return to your art with fresh energy and new perspectives.
Professionals & Entrepreneurs – Creativity isn’t just for artists. Many of life’s biggest “aha” moments happen when we’re engaged in creative play. If you need a mental reset or a new way of thinking, these sessions help you unlock ideas, solve problems, and spark fresh insights.
Moms, Caregivers & Homemakers – Finding time for yourself can be difficult, but nurturing your creative side is essential. This is a space where you can step away from daily responsibilities and reconnect with YOU through art and self-expression.
Anyone Seeking Mental Clarity & Self-Discovery – Art has the power to reveal what words cannot. By focusing on creative play rather than a finished product, these sessions can help you gain insights into your emotions, personal journey, and next steps in life.
Nature & Spirituality Enthusiasts – Each month’s theme is designed to integrate intuition, nature, and storytelling, helping you create from a deeply personal and inspired place.
No matter your experience level, the Creativity Club provides a safe, inspiring space to let go, explore, and return to your creative practice (or life) with a renewed sense of purpose and direction.
